The National Museum is one of the most outstanding Neo-Renaissance buildings of the 19th century, built in 1885 - 1890 by architect J. Schulz. Its splendid interior is worth seeing - the facade, staircase, halls and entrance ramp are decorated with sculptures by leading artists. Concerts take place on the staircase of the Grand Hall, in the interior of the Neo-renaissance building with breath-taking atmosphere, which is unique not to be found anywhere else in Prague, nor in the whole Europe. |

Jan Václav Gallas, the Supreme Marshal of the Kingdom of Bohemia, Viceroy of Naples, built himself a palace, in 1713 -1719, after plans by the Viennese court architect J. B. Fischer of Erlach. The massive statues of giants by the entrance, the sculptures on its attic storey, and the sculpture decoration on the staircase are the works of Matyáš Bernard Braun. The frescoes on the staircase and in the halls on the second floor were executed by Carlo Carlone. The Clam-Gallas Palace is one of the most outstanding buildings of the Prague Baroque. Two halls are used for concerts: the Conference Hall with lovely ceiling frescoes and the Main Marble Hall with beautiful crystal chandeliers. |

The Prague Loreto is an artistic and historical monument, as
well as a Baroque pilgrimage site the renown of which in the city can
perhaps be compared only with that of the wonder-working statue of the
Infant of Prague. Construction of the Prague Loreto Santa Casa began on
3 June 1626, at the instigation of Baroness Benigna Katharina von
Lobkowitz. The Loreto arose gradually over the course of the 17th and
18th centuries; the interiors were partly renovated in the 19th century;
and in the 1950s and 1960s, a new treasury was built, accessible to the
public. |
